About the Band

Ducharme-Jones

Ducharme-Jones features the songwriting and performances of longtime Austin, Texas residents David and Anne Ducharme-Jones. Their debut album Strangest Things (2016) was produced and recorded at The Track Shack in South Austin. Long known for his guitar performance, Ducharme-Jones is no one-trick pony.  He toured with The Rainravens from the mid-90's through 2007 with notoriety in Europe, recording and producing their last album in his home studio.  He released several solo projects, Weeds (2009) and A LOUD Guitar (2012), on which Annie joined him on background vocals and live performances.  In 2012, Dave and Annie began co-writing, discovering a new facet of their relationship, and their latest project began to take shape. The thing they love most about their writing partnership is the eclectic nature of the songs they bring to life, sometimes snippets of their own history.  Featuring David's sophisticated, melodic guitar and lead vocals on upbeat roots-rocker "Red Roses" and "Two Satellites", alongside moody and ambient "Of the Water", whimsical, jazzy "Wherever You Go", and funky "The Girl Is Gone,"  the band's love for different styles is evident. Annie steps into lead vocals on rootsey-rockers "I Don't Need You," "Crazy Heart," and "I Was Wrong," as well as re-discovering her love of writing music, something she had done in her teens and twenties.

David and Anne Ducharme-Jones recently relocated to Des Moines, Iowa and The Ducharme-Jones Band performs regularly at the city's best listening rooms, and every performance is a little different. Their five piece band features some of Des Moines' finest players, and some nights the set list includes all originals, and some nights they pull in some of their favorite covers or debut a new song to test the waters.  If you can find your way to one of their club dates, come prepared to enjoy a little Austin flavor in the heart of the Midwest.
